🌟 Help Us Build a More Inclusive Community! 🌟

At Don't Be A Sap, It's a Booby Trap (DBAS), we believe every child and family deserves the opportunity to communicate, learn, grow, and thrive. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between the Deaf, ASL, disability, and hearing communities through education, inclusion, and the arts. Your support allows us to continue vital programs that directly impact children with disabilities, special needs families, and underserved families throughout our communities. By choosing to donate to the Giving Tree campaign, you play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission.

🌱 Your Donation Helps Us:

📚 Provide Books to Families – Your contributions will help us purchase inclusive books for Deaf, ASL, disability, and underserved families, fostering language development, literacy, and a lifelong love of reading.

🎒 Support Our Back-to-School Project – We can provide school supplies, backpacks, and essential learning materials to children with disabilities and families facing financial hardship thanks to your generous support.

🎭 Fund School Enrichment Programs & Performances – Your donations help us continue offering inclusive educational workshops, enrichment programs, and performances specifically designed for children with special needs and their families. Our current collaborations include schools in Baldwin County, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, as well as the library in Flomaton, Alabama, and Emerald Coast Exceptional Families. Through the arts and interactive activities, we work to enhance communication, fine motor skills, cognitive development, social skills, confidence, and self-expression.

🎬 Bring Our ASL Short Film to Life – Join us in producing The Evergreen Christmas Tree, an inclusive short film aimed at promoting kindness, accessibility, environmental stewardship, and representation through American Sign Language.

🏠 Help Us Work Toward a Permanent Home – One of our long-term goals is to establish an inclusive community building in the Pensacola, Florida area. This dedicated space would allow us to expand our classes, workshops, performances, and life-skills programs, while also providing community resources and creating opportunities to support children with disabilities, special needs families, and low-income families.

A Christmas MIRACLE...

In these days, it’s hard to see the light with everything happening politically and California’s homeless epidemic, along with so many individuals living in poverty. We at Don’t Be a Sap are trying to bring a little Christmas and holiday spirit back to Southern California this holiday season.

We raised enough money to create a Christmas Miracle by donating 1,300 ASL toys to the Deaf and special needs schools and organizations in the Southern California area, while also supporting underprivileged families with essential furniture for their homes and even A CAR.

Each organization is hosting its own Christmas event. We delivered the ASL toys to these organizations, passing them out during their events or close to Christmas. The furniture was gifted to families, foster youth, and single-parent households.

The Nugget sign language toys have been a wonderful gift for underprivileged children with disabilities, providing them with valuable resources. In addition, the furniture helped transform their living spaces into homes, creating a more welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you for helping us put a little more Christmas magic in the air! You can also donate to the Giving Tree campaign and join our efforts to foster an inclusive community and support children with disabilities.  Donate Now!

A huge thank you goes out to Veterans United Foundation for enabling us to gift Nugget ASL toys to the Blind Children Center, GLAD, and Center for Living and Learning. Their support helps us create an inclusive community, and it's essential for those looking to donate to the giving tree campaign and support children with disabilities. Without them, this would have never been possible!
